Was president Roosevelt justified in ordering executive order 9066 which resulted in the internment of Japanese American citizens

Answers

Answer 1

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

Although there are no options attached we can say the following.

No, I don't think so. President Roosevelt was not justified in ordering executive order 9066 which resulted in the internment of Japanese American citizens. It is true that some of his cabinet members -such as the Secretary of Defense- believed that the executive order was necessary and justified. However, that order treated Japanese American people as a prisoner of war, isolated in the interim camps such as Manzanates, California, and that was not a way to treat an American citizen.

For some historians, those camps resemble in concept, the Nazi camps of World War II, taking into consideration the proportions of this comparison.

Besides, there was no real evidence that proved that these Japanese Americans were species or had ties with the Japanese Army.

Answer 2

Answer:

here's my essay I wrote for this question on edge:

Was President Roosevelt justified in ordering Executive Order 9066? No, he was not. All it did was result in the internment of Japanese American citizens, even though that wasn't what was specified in the order. Roosevelt was not justified in making this decision because it led to splitting up families, arresting innocent people, and denying their rights.

The Executive Order 9066 authorized the military to keep out “any or all persons from areas of the United States designated as military areas.” However, the order did not identify any particular group, but Roosevelt used it to remove and imprison Japanese and Japanese-American citizens. It ended up condemning almost 70% of imprisoned Japanese-American Citizens. Even if they were American but had some sort of Japanese descent, they would incarcerate them. All of this was okay because of the Executive Order 9066.

Where did these innocent citizens go when they were removed and imprisoned? They were brought into wartime camps and were suspended of their rights under Fifth Amendment. The order Roosevelt passes, allowed the suspension and so, the Japanese Americans were denied their rights. The Fifth Amendment states that 'no person shall be deprived of life, liberty or property without due process.' This is a world-wide known right. Yet, Roosevelt just takes it away because he simply feels he needs to? That's scary knowing that the president could take everybody's rights away in a second if they wanted to. Not is it only scary, but it is not justified.

However, many people believe that Roosevelt was under good reasoning when passing the order. Some people will argue it helped public safety. People who are on that side of this argument tend to believe that he was also justified because of the hatred and fear against the Japanese Americans after the Japanese had attacked Pearl Harbor. This theory continued to expand, leading to a common belief that the Japanese-Americans had been of help to the Japanese in planning the attack.

Despite those beliefs, Roosevelt was impartially wrong in his ordering of Executive Order 9066. While it may have been true that many Americans were fearful of the Japanese, this is not a reason of why Roosevelt was justified. This is because they did not only intern Japanese and Japanese-Americans. They also interned thousands of others including Italian and German-Americans. So, even though people were supposedly scared of the Japanese, fear was obviously not the only reason they interned innocent American citizens.

It's understandable how, on impulse, people can believe that Roosevelt was justified in interning millions of Americans. But, if you look deeper into it, that is clearly not the case. Executive Order 9066 was an inhumane and unjustified order that ruined many Americans lives and tore apart thousands of families. So, in conclusion, Roosevelt was not justified in issuing Executive Order 9066.

hope this helps! for plagiarism reasons.. change it up a bit so that u don't get in trouble by ur teacher ahaha good luck!

Andrew Jackson refused to enforce the ruling, the decision helped form the basis for most subsequent law in the United States regarding Native Americans. Georgia, 31 U.S. (6 Pet.) 515 (1832), was a landmark case in which the United States Supreme Court vacated the conviction of Samuel Worcester and held that the Georgia criminal statute that prohibited non-Native Americans from being present on Native American lands without a license from the state was unconstitutional.Worcester's decision was important in terms of the Native American rights because he was there to help the Native Americans not be scared of the Supreme Court. That they can fight and stay where they are. In an opinion delivered by Chief Justice John Marshall, the Court held that the Georgia act, under which Worcester was prosecuted, violated the Constitution, treaties, and laws of the United States.

Consider that those who don’t join the war will be looked upon unfavourably by most, especially allies they swore to help. Essentially, you would be treated poorly at post-war negotiations.
Also consider the nationalist fervour present among the populous in most European states. People were rather excited for war in many cases, with many believing the war would be over by the Christmas of 1914. Not many knew the true horror of what would transpire during the war, and those who did didn’t make it known to the civilian population whose support they relied upon. Finally, bring up how Belgium declared neutrality but was still invaded by the German army.

Barbed wire entanglement were often 40 yards (36m) from the front trench considering the types of weapon used on the western front, what would be their main defensive function

Answers

Answer:

The main function was to create a line of defense for the trenches.

Explanation:

Barbed wire was essential during the "trench war" which is the first world war.

This is because the army dug trenches in the ground so that soldiers could attack the enemy army while they were inside those trenches. Between the trenches of each army, there was a free space called "no man's land" that was used for soldiers to leave their trenches and enter the enemy trenches. To prevent this, barbed wire was used to protect the trenches and provide an obstacle for enemy soldiers.

6. How did Caesar acquire his riches?

Answers

Answer:

Marcus Licinius Crassus is considered to be the wealthiest man in Roman history. Extremely adept at making money, he parlayed that success into leading positions in government and the military but was ultimately undone by a series of unwise decisions.

The son of a well-known senator who also served as consul and censor, Crassus began his public life by marrying the wife of his recently dead older brother and allying himself with Sulla, who later ruled Rome as dictator. Crassus led a group of soldiers who won a crucial battle that turned the tide of the civil war.

This alliance proved fruitful for Crassus's ambitions of wealth. As Sulla set about getting rid of his opponents, Crassus followed up by buying their properties at cut-rate prices and then selling them at large profits. He had amassed quite a fortune by this time and had hundreds of slaves at the ready.

Crassus made quite a name for himself by taking advantage of owners whose buildings were burning. Fires were quite common in Rome, yet the city did not have an organized firefighting force. According to several sources, Crassus would rush to a burning building, buy it from the owner, then order his slave-labor firefighters to put out the fire. Crassus would then spruce up the building, using his slave labor, and sell the building at a profit.

He also made quite a bit of money buying and selling slaves and getting the most out of a group of silver mines that his family owned. As a result, he amassed a huge fortune and became powerful and well-known on the strength of his wealth.

Crassus had political and military ambitions and used his wealth to pursue them. He befriended the young, brilliant general Julius Caesar, in part by offering to help finance Caesar's frequent military campaigns. Meanwhile, Crassus was moving up the political ladder. He held the rank of praetor when the Spartacus-led slave revolt broke out, in 73 B.C. After the brilliant slave leader led his men through a series of victories against better-equipped Roman legions, Crassus offered up his own wealth to finance an army to fight Spartacus. Crassus it was who finally defeated Spartacus, ensuring that he was dead and then crucifying 6,000 surviving slaves on the road from Rome to Capua, as a deterrent to future revolt leaders.

Crassus was not the only Roman gaining fame and fortune, however. The aforementioned Caesar was proving his worth in matters military and legal. The greatest general, in terms of field victories, was Pompey, who had secured the ongoing enmity between himself and Crassus by claiming credit for ending the slave revolt by capturing a few thousand slaves in a mop-up operation after Crassus had defeated Spartacus.

Despite this, Crassus and Pompey were named consuls in 70 B.C. Already jealous of each other, they grew even moreso as they shared power. Consulship was only for a year, and the two served in other posts after that. For the next few years, Crassus and Caesar cemented their alliance by doing political and monetary favors for each other.

Crassus and Pompey were still the two most powerful figures in Rome and still did not trust each other. Caesar, sensing an opportunity, convinced them both to take control of the government together, along with him, in what came to be known as the First Triumvirate, in 60 B.C.

As part of the arrangement, Crassus took control of Syria, a wealthy province that, he hoped, would give him even more wealth and an opportunity for more military triumphs. He hoped to lead forces through Syria to attack the Parthians, at the time harassing Rome's eastern flank.

Crassus and Pompey again served as consuls in 55. That same year, the Triumvirate nearly fell apart. Caesar called the other two together at the Lucca Conference, however, and smoothed things over enough for the arrangement to continue.

While Pompey was solidifying his hold on Spain and Caesar was invading Britain and subduing Gaul, Crassus launched his attack on Parthia. It was not at all a success. He was undone by treachery and impetuosity, being the victim of both a double-cross by a supposed neutral party and his own desire to rush into glory rather than fight on terms more favorable to his troops. Thus it was at Carrhae in 53 that a greater Roman infantry force was defeated by an inferior Parthian force of cavalry and archers and Crassus himself was killed in the fighting. Accounts of the details surrounding his death differ. All agree, however, that he did not return to Rome except to be buri
