Will give brainliest!! PLEASE HELP NEED THIS NOW DUE TODAYYY!!!
My math students challenged me, their math teacher, to play a dice game with them. They will give me 10 cents for each odd sum I roll with two dice, but I have to give them 10 cents for each even sum they roll with the two dice. I do not think this game is fair. I think I am going to get cheated! I noticed that I cannot roll one of my odd numbers: 1!

Should I play this game with the students? Use your mathematical thinking to convince me whether or not this is a fair game.

Answers

Answer 1

Answer:

No

Step-by-step explanation:

You can if you want, but there is a total of 6 on the dice. And there are 3 odds. Each odd you role you gain 10 cents, but each time a student roles a even they also get 10 cents. So you will get paid and in a game of chance and gambling. You won't gain anything if ALL of the students are together and going against you. Its like 1 vs 25 and you would have to pay a lot of students at one time to play this game. So logically no, because you won't gain money. But also you could if you always get odds, but again. That's a 3/6 or 1/2 each time you role to get a odd number.

Hope that helped, or even made sense xD

The equation 4(x − 2)=100 is a true equation for a particular value of x. Explain why 2(x − 2)=50 is also true for the same value of x.

Please type the answer not a link

Answers

Answer:

See below.

Step-by-step explanation:

4(x − 2)=100

Divide both sides by 2.

4/2 (x - 2) = 100/2

2(x - 2) = 50

Since the equation 2(x - 2) = 50 is obtained by dividing the both sides of the first equation by 2, and that is a legal operation because of the division property of equality, then the second equation is equivalent to the first equation and has the same solution.

The height of a plant in centimeters is recorded each day for 10 days. The function y = 1.73x + 1.87 is determined to
be a good fit for the data. On day 6 the recorded height was 12.5 cm. How close is the predicted height to the actual
height of the plant (the residual)?
15 points

Answers

Answer: 0.25 cm

Step-by-step explanation: The function y = 1.73x + 1.87 is used as a prediction. Since the answer is asking for how close the predicted height to the actual height is on day 6, we substitute 6 for x.

The function becomes like this:

y = 1.73(6) + 1.87

y = 10.38 + 1.87

y = 12.25

y = 12.25 cm is the predicted height on day 6. The actual height on day 6 recorded is 12.5 cm. We subtract the predicted height from the actual height and get 0.25 cm.

Rotate the vector (3,-2) 90°

If the coordinate is (3, -2) then after the 90° counter-clockwise about the origin. Then new coordinate will be (2, 3).

What is coordinate geometry?

Coordinate geometry is the study of geometry using the points in space. Using this, it is possible to find the distance between the points, the dividing line is m:n ratio, finding the mid-point of the line, etc.

Convert the cartesian coordinate to the polar coordinate. Then we have

[tex]r = \sqrt{3^2 + (-2)^2}\\\\r = \sqrt{9 + 4 }\\\\r = 3.61\\\\\theta = \tan ^{-1}\dfrac{-2}{3}\\\\\theta = -33.69^o\\\\\theta = 326.31^o[/tex]

Then 90° counter-clockwise about the origin, then the angle will be

θ = 326.31 + 90 = 431.31

But θ is from 0 to 360. Then

θ = 431.31 - 360 = 56.31

Then convert the polar coordinate to the cartesian coordinate. Then we have

x = r cosθ

x = 3.61 × cos 56.31

x = 2

and

y = r sinθ

y = 3.61 × sin 56.31

y = 3

for function of g,g(0)=1 and g(1)=5 assuming g is a linear function what is g(3)

Answers

Answer:

[tex]g(3) = 13[/tex]

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

[tex]g(0) = 1[/tex]

[tex]g(1) = 5[/tex]

Required

Find g(3)

Since g(x) is a linear function, then:

[tex]g(x) = mx + c[/tex]

For: [tex]g(0) = 1[/tex]

[tex]g(x) = mx + c[/tex]

[tex]g(0) = m*0 + c[/tex]

[tex]1 = 0 + c[/tex]

[tex]1 = c[/tex]

[tex]c = 1[/tex]

For: [tex]g(1) = 5[/tex]

[tex]g(x) = mx + c[/tex]

[tex]g(1) = m * 1 + c[/tex]

[tex]5 = m * 1 + c[/tex]

[tex]5 = m + c[/tex]

Substitute [tex]c = 1[/tex]

[tex]5 = m + 1[/tex]

[tex]m = 5 - 1[/tex]

[tex]m =4[/tex]

So, the function is:

[tex]g(x) = mx + c[/tex]

[tex]g(x) = 4x + 1[/tex]

Calculate g(3)

[tex]g(3) = 4*3 + 1[/tex]

[tex]g(3) = 12 + 1[/tex]

[tex]g(3) = 13[/tex]

Answers

Answer:

At 5% significant level, there is sufficient evidence to suggest that last year's mean local monthly bill for cell phone users has decreased from the 2001 mean of $47.37

Step-by-step explanation:

The given data are presented as follows;

32.88, 31.09, 16.13, 104.2, 47.65, 116.96, 61.97, 43.74, 13.52, 15, 37, 30.09, 16.93, 44.67, 28.08, 64.08, 16.17, 28.04, 57.67, 14.62, 61.32, 35.64, 88.95, 50.48, 16.41, 16.56, 13.48, 27.10, 15.50, 19.95, 23.45, 46.24, 41.8, 49.35, 81.16, 28.80, 32.48, 28.95, 31.60, 35.6, 24.74, 44.82, 51.62, 42.04, 22.43, 46.54, 48.32, 24.53, 77.21, 15.12, 126.84

We note that there are 51 data points, however, the points, 15 and 37 are given without decimal place values and therefore, they are taken as one data point to make 50 data points.

The given sample size = 50

The mean mean of the given data, [tex]\overline x[/tex] ≈ 41.01

The standard deviation of the given data, s ≈ 26.59

The null hypothesis, h₀; μ = 47.37

The alternative hypothesis, hₐ; μ < 47.37

The significant level, α = 5%

Therefore, we have;

The test statistics is given as follows;

[tex]t=\dfrac{\bar{x}-\mu }{\dfrac{s}{\sqrt{n}}}[/tex]

Plugging in the values gives;

[tex]t=\dfrac{41.01-47.37}{\dfrac{26.59}{\sqrt{50}}} \approx -1.69131[/tex]

The critical-t at 5% at df = n - 1 = 51 - 9 = 49 degrees of freedom and significance level, α of 5% (0.05) from a calculator = -1.676551

Given that the test statistic is larger than the critical-t, we therefore reject the null hypothesis. There is enough statistical evidence to suggest that last years mean monthly bill for cell phone users has decreased from 2001 mean to $47.37.

Step-by-step explanation:

Financial accounting is an accounting technique used for analyzing, summarizing and reporting of financial transactions like sales costs, purchase costs, account payables and receivables of an organization using standard financial guidelines such as Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial accounting standards board (FASB).

This ultimately implies that, it involves specific processes such as recording, summarizing, analysis and reporting of financial transactions with respect to business operations over a specific period of time. Financial experts or accountant uses either the cash basis or accrual basis of accounting.

With regard to financial terminology related to a home or other asset, the word "appreciate" means to grow in value. Thus, an asset that appreciates simply means that it's growing in value over a specific period of time compared to it's initial value.

On the other hand, depreciation can be defined as the reduction of cost of a fixed asset systematically until the value of the asset becomes zero.
