how does the contrast between grendel and beowulf turn their conflict into a clash

Answers

Answer:

In Beowulf, an old epic poem, the fight between the Grendel and the Beowulf supports the evidence that it is a symbol of the struggle between the evil and the good due to feud with the almighty God. The symbolism of Beowulf’s gesture in lines 356-359

“wulfgar] then turned quickly to where hrothgar sat

old and hoary with his band of retainers

walked stoutly so that he by shoulders stood

with the lord of the danes ”

which reveal a theme resulting from this conflict is when Grendel's arms are hung from the rafter by Beowulf. Through this, it depicts that heaven and goodness have prevailed. Hence, through the nature of actions by Beowulf, the theme of violence is highlighted and that of evil versus goodness.

What is a 3-D print?

The process of building a two-half object from a CAD model or digital 3D model is known as additive manufacturing or 3D printing. It can be carried out via a variety of techniques in which material is brought together, often layer by layer, and then deposition, joining, or solidification are all controlled by computers.

Early 1980s Japan saw the development of 3D printing in its earliest known forms. Hideo Kodama was looking for a technique to create a quick prototyping system in 1981. Using a photosensitive resin that had been polymerized by UV light, he developed a layer-by-layer manufacturing process.

In essence, a real product is molded by a 3D printer using a digital plan. For instance, some 3D printers build an object layer by layer using heated materials like plastic. Eventually, the layers stack up in three dimensions to form the final thing.

The passages present arguments for and against voting rights for those convicted of a felony. Write a response analyzing the arguments in both passages and determining which argument is stronger. Use relevant and specific evidence from the passages to support your response. Take approximately 45 minutes to write your response. Be sure to plan, draft, and evaluate your writing.

Passage 1

Don't Disenfranchise Felons

As of 2010, an estimated 5.85 million U.S. citizens cannot vote because of a felony conviction. This is a horrific number, greater than the total population of Wisconsin. Twelve states deny voting rights to felons after prison, parole, and probation are over: Alabama, Arizona, Delaware, Florida, lowa, Kentucky, Mississippi, Nebraska, Nevada, Tennessee, Virginia, and Wyoming. The laws in these states need to be reformed. No citizen should be denied voting rights after completing their prison sentence. It creates an unjust, permanent restriction. Once a citizen has completed a sentence, that person's rights should be reinstated. The U.S. justice system is far from perfect. While racial minorities make up approximately 30% of the U.S. population, they comprise 60% of the prison population. Disenfranchisement laws denying felons voting rights unjustly target minorities. As the Washington Poststated in the editorial "A Lifetime Sentence for Felonies"(July 29 ,20 ), "In Virginia, Kentucky and Florida, felon disenfranchisement affects a staggering one in five African Americans." A prison sentence is a term of rehabilitation determined by a court. At the end of this term, a felon has paid the debt that society dictated. Denying civil rights after this term is unfair and undemocratic. It is demoralizing to former felons, who can no longer fully participate in democracy. Felony disenfranchisement laws should be overturned.

Passage 2

Let States Decide about Felony Voting Rights

Felony voting rights are governed by state laws, and each state should be allowed to determine the best policy. Two states have no restrictions, and even felons in prison can vote. Twelve states have at least some restrictions after parole and probation. The majority of states fall somewhere in between. In each state, the voters and lawmakers have made a determination of appropriate voting rights. Opponents of voting rights restriction often state that almost 6 million American felons do not have the right to vote, but in truth, almost half of those people are still in prison. Most Americans agree that it is not unjust for felony prisoners to lose voting rights while in prison or on parole. State laws reflect this reasoned belief. States that maintain voting restrictions after parole are not unreasonable. In the February, 2013 National Review article "Eric Holder's Call for Felon Reenfranchisement." Roger Clegg, JD stated: "The right to vote can be restored, but it should be done carefully, on a case-by-case basis, once a person has shown that he or she has really turned over a new leaf." The completion of a sentence is not the same as rehabilitation. It should not necessarily mean an automatic lifting of reasonable restrictions. A felon has shown criminal judgment, and that is a rational reason for restricting voting rights.

Hi can someone plz set this up properly Using a Six-Trait Rubric Personal Narratives

A friend to me means someone you can trust, someone you can tell anything to, someone who will be by your side in good times as well as in bad. A friend is someone you can go to for advice. A friend is someone you can go to if you need help whether it's studying or you just need a good crying session they are also the person who cheers you up and gives you the advice you need to get up and say I can keep going I can do this.

But unfortunately, not all friends are like the things I just mentioned they can be divided into two groups which are real and fake friends. It's quite a challenge to find real friends(lucky for me I have found one)and even harder to maintain this friendship in the long term. I had many friends at the ice rink but pretty much all of them were fake and not real friends. Normally they would come and talk with me and try to hang out during breaks if I was doing good in my lessons that day or if I got a new jump that week they would want to make plans for the weekend but something always came up.

One day I got tired of this and I could obviously see who my real friends are vs my fake friends and decided that my energy was more well spent on the people who actually wanted to see me succeed and do well in life.

So this left me with 2 great friends who I care for very much and I can't imagine my life without them!!

How does the author of the text use foreshadowing to create suspense in “the tell-tale heart”? Support your answer with two pieces of textual evidence.

Answers

Answer:

Throughout the story, Poe is careful about how he portrays his words. The way he does portray them creates a sense of suspense that makes you feel as if you are observing the whole event, frame by frame.

In this story, Poe states “For a whole hour I did not move a muscle, and in the meantime, I did not hear him lie down” (63). In this example, his words are described in such vivid detail that you picture this scene perfectly. Another example includes when Poe uses such phrases as, “It was open-wide, wide open-and I grew furious as I gazed upon it” (63).

The use of repetition in the first-person point of view helps to stir some emotions of the unknown. It creates the suspense of not knowing what will happen next. By using the first-person point of view, Poe was able to show how the narrator feels.

An example of this is when the narrator uses the phrases at the beginning to question his existence. The narrator wanted to know if he was mad, or not.

Phrases such as “I heard all things in the heaven and in earth” (62), tells the reader that the narrator indeed is mad, yet the narrator thinks himself not. In the following statement, “If still you think me mad, you will think so no longer when I describe the wise precautions I took for the concealment of the body” (64).
