Timeline and map of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, including the Hanging Gardens of Babylon

The Hanging Gardens of Babylon were one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World listed by Hellenic culture. They were described as a remarkable feat of engineering with an ascending series of tiered gardens containing a wide variety of trees, shrubs, and vines, resembling a large green mountain constructed of mud bricks. It was said to have been built in the ancient city of Babylon, near present-day Hillah, Babil province, in Iraq. The Hanging Gardens' name is derived from the Greek word kremastós (κρεμαστός, lit. 'overhanging'), which has a broader meaning than the modern English word "hanging" and refers to trees being planted on a raised structure such as a terrace.

Explanation:According to one legend, the Hanging Gardens were built alongside a grand palace known as The Marvel of Mankind, by the Neo-Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar II (who ruled between 605 and 562 BC), for his Median wife Queen Amytis, because she missed the green hills and valleys of her homeland. This was attested to by the Babylonian priest Berossus, writing in about 290 BC, a description that was later quoted by Josephus. The construction of the Hanging Gardens has also been attributed to the legendary queen Semiramis, who supposedly ruled Babylon in the 9th century BC,[4] and they have been called the Hanging Gardens of Semiramis as an alternative name.[5]

The Hanging Gardens are the only one of the Seven Wonders for which the location has not been definitively established.[6] There are no extant Babylonian texts that mention the gardens, and no definitive archaeological evidence has been found in Babylon.[7][8] Three theories have been suggested to account for this. One: that they were purely mythical, and the descriptions found in ancient Greek and Roman writings (including those of Strabo, Diodorus Siculus and Quintus Curtius Rufus) represented a romantic ideal of an eastern garden.[9] Two: that they existed in Babylon, but were completely destroyed sometime around the first century AD.[10][4] Three: that the legend refers to a well-documented garden that the Assyrian King Sennacherib (704–681 BC) built in his capital city of Nineveh on the River Tigris, near the modern city of Mosul.

Answer 2

Answer:

It was created for Nebuchadnezzar’s

Explanation:

Nebuchadnezzar had the Hanging Gardens of Babylon built to please his favorite wife, a Persian princess who was lonesome for the green hills of her native land. The gardens did not actually hang, but were overhanging the terraces, like roof gardens we might see in a city today. Water from the Euphrates River was pumped to the top by shifts of slaves working around the clock.

Birthright citizenship the process of gaining citizenship to a country because one was born there has sparked numerous debate about the effect of immigration on the country should the United States retain Birthright citizenship? please can you give fast it urgent

Answers

Answer:

Yes, the country should retain birthright citizenship because otherwise, it leaves many people disenfranchised and without the protections of being a citizen of a state.

Explanation:

Birthright citizenship or jus soli is an important principle in citizenship law because it is a means to prevent discrimination based on national origins or ethnic identity. It is a more inclusive framework for establishing citizenship rights because otherwise, some newborns for example could be born somewhere and have no legal rights and it can endanger them. In theory, someone born where there is no jus soli may never find a state where they can have citizenship rights and thus remain stateless or not a natural of any country in the world. There are more than 10 million people in the world who do not have any citizenship, like the children of Syrian refugees born in Germany, for example.

can u please help me write 5 small paragraphs the picture is above i really need this its due by 9:00pm please help meh

Answers

Explanation:

well be very detailed in your paragraphs and make the items your going to bring with you interesting and important ! i hope this helps <3

Answer:

Explanation:

If I were to go on an island for a week alone with no electricity or internet I would bring three items with me. Now, these three items I would bring is 2 gallons of water, canned foods, and matches. These three items are very big necessities due to the fact that there are limited things anyone can choose from. I thought really long and hard about this so hopefully these three things I choose you can agree with me. I believe I would need these three items to survive alone on an island and here is why.

First of all, we all need water in our systems so we don't dehydrate. I would take 2 gallons of water because the average amount of water a person needs is three quarts from a gallon. If I take 2 gallons of water it can last me 6 six days depending on how I use it. I can a gallon for three days and then move on to the next gallon of water. When I get to the last gallon of water I will use it wisely because I would need to save some to the last 7 days.

Everybody needs food because we need something sitting in our stomach so we don't go starving. I would take canned foods because there are no stoves or microwaves on the island since there is no electricity. Food is very important to bring because if I don't eat I can get sick by that. Food is also important because it has nutrients that give us the energy that will allow me to get up and the next day to do activities. I will explain how I can heat the food up and prepare it in my next paragraph.

Lastly, I would take matches on this island where I am alone. I would take matches because I can create a fire with the wood on the island. Not only it can create fire, but it can create light so I wouldn't have to bring a flashlight. I find the matches very useful because it can warm up the food in the cans I would take since I would be hungry. Once again since there are no stoves or microwaves on the island since there is no electricity using matches would be the smartest decision to warm up and prepare food.

In conclusion, I would bring all of these three supplies because I think they are the most important not only to survive but also for any emergencies. I hope others can agree with me and I find this very useful because I think I know what to prepare for an emergency. There were many things that I could've chosen from, but all of those things didn't seem like a smart choice. 2  gallons of water to not dehydrate, canned foods to give me nutrients that will give me energy, and matches to create fire/light is all I need to survive on an island alone. Overall, 2 gallons of water, canned foods, and matches will help me survive on an island alone where there is no electricity or internet.

The Great Plains are a hub for resource extraction because they are rich in minerals and oil.

Oil and natural gas are produced throughout Texas, as well as in some areas of Oklahoma and Kansas. Coal is widely available in Wyoming, Montana, and the Dakotas.

Thus, Option B is correct.

Why is it referred to as the Great Plains?

Valleys frequently divide them. However, the region as a whole generally has a long surface of modest relief, making the term "Great Plains" well-deserved. The abrupt climb of the mountains typically clearly defines the western boundary of the plains.

There is a continental climate in the Great Plains. Over a large portion of their area, freezing winters and warm summers are the norms, with little precipitation and humidity, a lot of wind, and abrupt temperature variations.
