Which have a greater impact on shaping our identity good or bad memories

Answers

Answer 1

Answer:

It would depend on the person.

Explanation:

I have some major ptsd from the way I grew up. Even though I am currently in the process of figuring out who I outside of other people's wants, I find that some of the things that I want to do with my life I cannot yet because there are still so many negative experiences(aka memories) holding me back due to me not being strong enough to deal with the issues for so many years.

I've been out of my...situation, for almost four years now and have had many good experiences since then, but they seem to be simply a small break from trying to fix myself. At the end of the day, when I stare sleeplessly up at the ceiling, I know that the negative will always be there tugging at my mind, telling me that it would be easier to just regress back to all the negativities.

Janie mentions the "deaths" of her dreams several times in the novel. What does she mean by this? And how do the deaths of these dreams modify her opinion of men and her expectations for the future?

Answers

Answer:

Assuming we are referring to Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston: At the beginning of the novel, Janie believed that she would have a strong loving relationship with a man and that if it wasn't that (strong and loving) a marriage would bring that for her. These could be considered Janie's dreams. Her first marriage with Logan was unloving and very weak. The marriage didn't strengthen her relationship like she thought it would and like Nanna told her it would. Her next relationship with Joe ended up leading the same path, but because it was so much longer she only had more time to grow further apart from him. These examples could be considered the deaths of those dreams. Janie's opinion of men was deteriorating rapidly at this point because she had such low expectations of men. Her opinion worsened because she began to believe that every relationship she had with a man would only bring her down more.

As Janie dreams remains on the horizon for most of her life she wishes and hopes for better things but she lives in a reality that is very different from her dreams As frim the very beginning her dreams are limited by the circumstances per the situations in her life.

Thus the death of drams is limited future opportunities.

Excerpt from The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
Mark Twain

...Tom and me found the money that the robbers hid in the cave, and it made us rich. We got six thousand dollars apiece--all gold. It was an awful sight of money when it was piled up. Well, Judge Thatcher he took it and put it out at interest, and it fetched us a dollar a day apiece all the year round --more than a body could tell what to do with. The Widow Douglas she took me for her son, and allowed she would sivilize me; but it was rough living in the house all the time, considering how dismal regular and decent the widow was in all her ways; and so when I couldn't stand it no longer I lit out. I got into my old rags and my sugar-hogshead again, and was free and satisfied. But Tom Sawyer he hunted me up and said he was going to start a band of robbers, and I might join if I would go back to the widow and be respectable. So I went back.
Based on the title and the initial conflict with the Widow Douglas, you can infer that the theme of this passage is

Write a brief summary of Diary of Anne Frank, Act 1

Answers

Answer:

I think this should help...

When the Nazis rise to power, Anne Frank and her family go into hiding. Mr. Kraler shelters them in his attic, along with the Van Daans, Mr. Dussel, and Miep Gies. Anne becomes friends with Peter Van Daan, and she shares her first kiss with him. One of Kraler's employees blackmails him, and the Nazis raid the small attic. With the exception of Mr. Frank, all of the Jewish hideaways die in concentration camps.

The stage version of "Diary of Anne Frank, Act 1" is based on the well-known diary kept by Jewish teenager Anne Frank during World War II as she hid from the Nazis.

The Anne Frank family, comprised of Anne, her sister Margot, and their parents Otto and Edith, go into hiding in a covert annex above Otto's office in Amsterdam in order to evade persecution by the Nazis at the start of the play.

The drama explores the difficulties and conflicts the annex residents experience as they contend with seclusion, anxiety, and the ongoing danger of being discovered. Particularly Anne Frank suffers from adolescence, has disagreements with her mother, develops a strong bond with her father, and has a complex relationship with Peter.
