Describe some of the different ways that Cole tries to become invisible. What does he eventually realize about what it means to be invisible? Use text evidence to support your answer. The book is called touching the spirit bear. AND PLS HIRRY ITS DUE FRIDAY AT 1PM!!!!

Answers

Answer:

To make himself invisible, Cole tries to mask the human scent he has, so he bathes, wears clean clothes and tries to grab animals so he doesn't smell like a human. None of this works. He can only become invisible when he presents himself with a clean, calm mind, without malice and in harmony with nature. At that moment, he realizes that being invisible does not mean that no one can see him, but that no one can perceive him, hear him or feel him, as he enters a very deep and harmonious spiritual state.

Explanation:

"Touching the spirit bear" is a book written by Ben Mikaelsen and tells the story of Cole Matthews, a boy who beats a schoolmate in an extremely violent way, leaving him with several sequels and traumas. This act of violence causes Cole to be punished by being exiled to a remote island in Alaska and undergoing a spiritual treatment that brings harmony, calm and wisdom so that he stops promoting criminal acts and becomes a better person. Cole is very resistant to this type of punishment and continues to exhibit violent behavior, until he understands the benefits of confronting his own defects and establishing a harmony with the nature and spiritual beings it presents. This harmony will only be achieved when Cole manages to be invisible, but first he needs to understand what it is to be invisible and how this is possible.

The text claims that people who fled the Great Plains to California did eventually receive some help from the federal government. Identify the evidence in the text that supports that idea

Hello. You did not enter the text to which this question refers, which makes it impossible for it to be answered. However, when searching for your question, I was able to find a question exactly like yours, which showed that the text in question is entitled "The Dust Bowl and the Government Rescue." If this is the case with your question, I hope the answer below can help you.

Answer:

The text shows that the government built shelters where people could live and work. Although work in these places was little and difficult, people lived better than what they were living on the great plains.

Explanation:

The article refers to the problems caused by the Dust Bowl, a sandstorm that hit the Great Planices of the USA and lasted for about 10 years. This sandstorm destroyed all the work of the farmers who lived in that region, causing them to face countless socioeconomic problems, being forced to flee that region and try to live in another place. The article shows how this was a period of great suffering for farmers.

To alleviate this suffering, the federal government built about twelve shelters in California, where these farmers could work and live. These shelters offered very poor work and paid very low wages, but allowed people to live a little better.

These shelters serve as textual evidence for the claim that the federal government has provided some help to affected farmers, since textual evidence is a sentence, or more than one, that has the capacity to justify a claim.

Each one of us has some or the other qualities in ourselves which differentiate us from other people. The vital need is to search it out of our soul and when we have sought it, excelled in it, and the need of the hour then is to be humble and not be over-confident. When we excel in a particular field, all have high expectations from us to perform well. There the humbleness and sincerity of our mind comes into play.

I too possess a talent and this is how I became aware of it. One day, I went to play badminton and I was astonished to find that the traditional and basic shots came naturally to me. I thought that this was an extraordinary trait gifted to me. I started to pursue my career as a badminton player. I worked hard for two years until I became the champion at the district level. I had stepped into the professional panel of this game. I thought that I was the best in the district and this thought convinced me to decrease the length of my practice sessions and my mind was on the seventh heaven. I stopped paying attention to senior players or the coach's advice.

Days passed, it was time now for the state level tournament. After winning districts, I had lost my humble attitude and was full of over-confidence. I thought that I would conquer the state level forgetting that there were many other district level players like me. To my utter surprise, I was knocked out in the first round by a player whom I had defeated at the district level. It was an extremely shocking and traumatic moment for me.

I had let down my parents and my coach and I felt ashamed to show my face to them. My coach came searching for me and I feared that he would lash out at me for losing such an important match, but rather he was calm and affectionate. In a matter of five minutes, he taught me the greatest lesson of my life- hard work and humbleness.

He explained he had been noticing my change of attitude which was the cause of my downfall. He also pointed to my over-confident behaviour and advised that one should always be rooted to the earth, no matter whatever height of success one reaches. Moreover one should always be humble and respectful at all times even to our opponents. From then on, I vowed to follow my guide's advice all my life.

My coach wanted to teach this lesson in a practical way, therefore didn't point my shortcomings earlier. Though I suffered a big defeat, but it is never too late to pick up the shreds and weave a bed of roses for yourself.

The meaning of disparaging used here is belittling the value or importance of someone or something.

How should disparaging be used in a sentence?

Disparaging someone means expressing unfavorable views in an effort to belittle their reputation. If you make negative remarks about your friend's partner, he probably won't like it. It was wrong if a very affluent son married, example, the kitchen helper since the word "disparage" originally meant "to marry unequally."
