But not only that, you can’t wait to tell her exactly what you think about the attack. Was it right? Wrong? Was it a victory? A horrible thing? Will the attack help or hurt the cause? Tell your Aunt Martha what you think and why.

Answer:

"Dear Aunt Martha, You'll never believe it! Last night, a mob went to the lieutenant governor's house. They burned his books and papers, stole his money, and even took his sister and daughter's clothes and put them on for fun! I think this isn't right. Many people were angry about the Stamp Act, but there are other ways to rebel other than violence."

What happened in the battle of Little Bighorn?

The Lakota Sioux, Northern Cheyenne, and Arapaho tribes fought alongside the 7th Cavalry Regiment of the United States Army in the Battle of the Little Bighorn. The battle, which led to the American forces' defeat, was the pivotal event in the 1876 Great Sioux War. It happened on June 25 and 26, 1876, at the Crow Indian Reservation in southeast Montana Territory along the Little Bighorn River.

The war was a part of the Sioux Wars, a string of clashes and negotiations between US forces and Plains Indians over sovereignty of the West. The Sioux and Cheyenne had won the Battle of the Little Bighorn in less than an hour, killing Custer and all of his men.

Explain how the government played a part in reforming life for the urban poor.

Answers

Answer:

In the early 1900s, the United States entered a period of peace, prosperity, and progress. In the nation's growing cities, factory output grew, small businesses flourished, and incomes rose. As the promise of jobs and higher wages attracted more and more people into the cities, the U.S. began to shift to a nation of city dwellers. By 1900, 30 million people, or 30 percent of the total population, lived in cities.

The mass migration of people into the cities enriched some people but caused severe problems for others. For the emerging middle class, benefiting from growing incomes and increases in leisure time, the expanding city offered many advantages. Department stores, chain stores, and shopping centers emerged to meet the growing demand for material goods. Parks, amusement parks, and baseball stadiums were built to meet aesthetic and recreational needs. Transportation systems improved, as did the general infrastructure, better meeting the increased needs of the middle and upper class city dwellers.

Thousands of poor people also lived in the cities. Lured by the promise of prosperity, many rural families and immigrants from throughout the world arrived in the cities to work in the factories. It is estimated that by 1904 one in three people living in the cities was close to starving to death. For many of the urban poor, living in the city resulted in a decreased quality of life. With few city services to rely upon, the working class lived daily with overcrowding, inadequate water facilities, unpaved streets, and disease. Lagging far behind the middle class, working class wages provided little more than subsistence living and few, if any, opportunities for movement out of the city slums.

To find additional documents in Loc.gov on this topic, you might consider conducting searches using such terms as urbanization, urban immigrants, progressivism, and the names of individual cities such as Cincinnati, St. Louis, Philadelphia, and New Orleans.

What was the colonial response to the Navigation Acts?

The colonists knew that the acts were not often enforced, so they snuck goods in from other countries.

The acts removed colonists' rights, so they declared independence from England.

The colonial economy was hurt by the acts, so they protested and successfully had them removed.

The colonists benefited from the acts, so they became more loyal to England.

Answers

Answer:

In my opinion, it would be A

Explanation:

The main colonial response to the Navigation Acts was smuggling. Instead, England wanted all trade from the colonies to go through England first, allowing the mother country to profit off of all the trade. These laws made many colonists very angry because they curtailed the colonists' economic opportunities.

In effect, these acts created serious reductions in the trade of many North Carolina planters and merchants. Therefore, the colonists knew that the acts were not often enforced, so they snuck goods in from other countries.

What was the colonial response to the Navigation Acts?

The Anglo-Dutch War broke out in 1652 as a result of the Navigation Act of 1651, which was largely directed at the Dutch and required all trade between England and the colonies to be carried in English or colonial boats.

Smuggling was the easiest and riskiest way for colonists to get through the Navigation Acts. In the 17th and 18th centuries, smuggling colonial commodities to foreign ports and foreign products to the colonies was a lucrative industry.

Thus, the colonists knew that the acts were not often enforced, so they snuck goods in from other countries.

impacted people and culture? Explain how an exchange of goods moving from east to west and from west to east along the Silk Roads

Answers

Answer: The Silk Road was a vast trade network connecting Eurasia and North Africa via land and sea routes.

The Silk Road earned its name from Chinese silk, a highly valued commodity that merchants transported along these trade networks.

Advances in technology and increased political stability caused an increase in trade. The opening of more trade routes caused travelers to exchange many things: animals, spices, ideas, and diseases.

Explanation: One obvious effect of trade along the Silk Road was more goods were available in more places. Silk, owing to its soft texture and appealing shimmer, became so hotly desired that it was used as currency in central Asia. However, the process of raising silkworms and creating fabric from their cocoons remained a Chinese secret through the 6th century C.E. The fact that China remained the only source of silk meant that trade goods continued to travel across Asia. This involved many people and locations in the Silk Road trade networks.

Spices from the East Indies, glass beads from Rome, silk, ginger, and lacquerware from China, furs from animals of the Caucasian steppe and slaves from many locations all travelled along the Silk Road.

Some effects were cultural. During the rule of the Tang dynasty of China, for example, sculptures of camels from the caravans that frequently traded in China were placed in graves. Clearly the animals made an impression!

What was Greece like during the Dark Ages?

Greece was most likely organized during the Dark Ages into separate districts based on kinship groups and the koi, or households. Communities governed by aristocratic elite groups, as opposed to the lone monarchs or chieftains of prior eras, started to emerge before the close of the Greek Dark Ages.

In ancient Greece, trade had a significant role. In order to facilitate exchange, the Greeks even constructed cities abroad. They also created vessels capable of making lengthy voyages across the Mediterranean Sea. This sea borders the Middle East, northern Africa, and Europe.
