Answer:
North America is experiencing a boom in crude oil supply, primarily due to growing production in the Canadian oil sands and the recent expansion of shale oil production from the Bakken fields in North Dakota and Montana as well as the Eagle Ford and Permian Basins in Texas. Taken together, these new supplies are fundamentally changing the U.S. oil supply-demand balance. The United States now meets 66% of its crude oil demand from production in North America, displacing imports from overseas and positioning the United States to have excess oil and refined products supplies in some regions.
The rapid expansion of North American oil production has led to significant challenges in transporting crudes efficiently and safely to domestic markets—principally refineries—using the nation’s legacy pipeline infrastructure. In the face of continued uncertainty about the prospects for additional pipeline capacity, and as a quicker, more flexible alternative to new pipeline projects, North American crude oil producers are increasingly turning to rail as a means of transporting crude supplies to U.S. markets. Railroads are more willing to enter into shorter-term contracts with shippers than pipelines, offering more flexibility in a volatile oil market. According to rail industry officials, U.S. freight railroads delivered 435,560 carloads of crude oil in 2013 (roughly equivalent to 300 million barrels), compared to 9,500 carloads in 2008. In the first half of 2014, 258,541 carloads of crude oil were delivered. Crude imports by rail from Canada have increased more than 20-fold since 2011. The amount of oil transported by rail may also be influenced by a tight market for U.S.-built tankers. However, if recent oil price declines persist and the price falls below the level at which Bakken producers can cover their costs, some production could be shut in, potentially reducing the volume of oil carried by rail.
While oil by rail has demonstrated benefits with respect to the efficient movement of oil from producing regions to market hubs, it has also raised significant concerns about transportation safety and potential impacts to the environment. The most recent data available indicate that railroads consistently spill less crude oil per ton-mile transported than other modes of land transportation. Nonetheless, safety and environmental concerns have been underscored by a series of major accidents across North America involving crude oil transportation by rail—including a catastrophic fire that caused numerous fatalities and destroyed much of Lac Mégantic, Quebec, in 2013. Following that event, the U.S. Department of Transportation issued a safety alert warning that the type of crude oil being transported from the Bakken region may be more flammable than traditional heavy crude oil.

True
False
The Turtle Bayou Resolution happened on June 13, 1832. Thus, the given statement is false.
What was "The Turtle Bayou Resolution"?Near the northern end of Trinity Bay in Anahuac, Texas, in 1832, the Anglo-American settlers and the Mexican leader John Davis Bradburn (also an Anglo-American) engaged in battle.
The settlers objected to the centralist government's interference in their day-to-day lives. The colonists blamed conscripted criminals in the Mexican garrison at Anahuac, which is located at the confluence of the Trinity river and bay four miles south of the Turtle Bayou crossing, for a number of local crimes. The Texas colonists' first official protest against Mexican oppression was a precursor to the future Texas Revolution of 1836.
They were also at odds with the administration over the issue of tariffs on imports and exports. On July 23, 1832, the paper was made available in a special issue of the Brazoria Constitutional Advocate. Therefore, the given statement is false.

Who built the Grand Canal in China?
Answer:
The Sui DynastyExplanation:
THE GRAND CANAL is one of the wonders of the world. Built in the 7th century by CHINA's Sui Dynasty, it stretches about 1,100 mi (1,800 km) across eastern China—about the same distance as MIAMI, FLORIDA, to NEW YORK CITY, or LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, to Vancouver, CANADA. The canal was built to transport rice and silk from the rich and fertile south to the dry and barren north, particularly to soldiers protecting the frontier and the northern capital, BEIJING. Major cities grew up along its route, which remain major commercial centers to this day, although much of the canal is now too small or too full of silt to carry major boat traffic.

Which characteristic of climate can be different when comparing two physical environments? human population elevation resources precipitation
The human population of climate can be different when comparing two physical environments. The correct option is A.
What is the difference between physical and man-made environments?Every concept that man has invented, both physical and abstract, belongs to the manufactured environment. It will endure as long as there is human society. The geographical environment, however, consists of everything that is natural and independent of human presence. This makes it simple to distinguish between the two.
Our environment refers to our immediate surroundings as well as the features of the neighborhood where we reside. The wider natural world, including the land, the sea, and the atmosphere, is also included. Since the very beginning of human history, individuals have interacted with their environment.
Thus, the ideal option is A.

According to Karl Marx, the planning of the centralized economy would be done by the State
The centralized economy is an economic term that refers to the economic system in which all the resources necessary for production are in the hands of a state.
In this system, the state controls the means of production for which it carries out the production, consumption, and distribution of wealth to citizens. In this context, the market loses its reason, because the State controls the entire production value chain.

Why did the United States carry out a covert action and overthrow the government of Iran in 1953?
Group of answer choices
because Iran was developing a nuclear weapon
because they feared Iran might become a Soviet ally
because the Soviet Union had sponsored a coup in Iran the previous year
because Iran had seized the Suez Canal
Answer:
Explanation:
The 1953 Iranian coup d'état, known in Iran as the 28 Mordad coup d'état (Persian: کودتای ۲۸ مرداد), was the overthrow of the democratically elected Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh in favour of strengthening the monarchical rule of the Shah, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi on 19 August 1953. It was orchestrated by the United States (under the name TPAJAX Project[or "Operation Ajax") and the United Kingdom (under the name "Operation Boot").The clergy also played a considerable role.[11]
Mosaddegh had sought to audit the documents of the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company (AIOC), a British corporation (now part of BP) and to limit the company's control over Iranian oil reserves.[ Upon the AIOC's refusal to co-operate with the Iranian government, the parliament (Majlis) voted to nationalize Iran's oil industry and to expel foreign corporate representatives from the country. After this vote, Britain instigated a worldwide boycott of Iranian oil to pressure Iran economically. Initially, Britain mobilized its military to seize control of the British-built Abadan oil refinery, then the world's largest, but Prime Minister Clement Attlee (in power until 1951) opted instead to tighten the economic boycott while using Iranian agents to undermine Mosaddegh's government. Judging Mosaddegh to be unreliable and fearing a Communist takeover in Iran, UK prime minister Winston Churchill and the Eisenhower administration decided in early 1953 to overthrow Iran's government, though the preceding Truman administration had opposed a coup, fearing the precedent that Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) involvement would set. British intelligence officials' conclusions and the UK government's solicitations were instrumental in initiating and planning the coup, despite the fact that the U.S. government in 1952 had been considering unilateral action (without UK support) to assist the Mosaddegh government.
Following the coup in 1953, a government under General Fazlollah Zahedi was formed which allowed Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, the last Shah of Iran (Persian for an Iranian king), to rule more firmly as monarch. He relied heavily on United States support to hold on to power.According to the CIA's declassified documents and records, some of the most feared mobsters in Tehran were hired by the CIA to stage pro-Shah riots on 19 August. Other men paid by the CIA were brought into Tehran in buses and trucks, and took over the streets of the city. Between 200 and 300 people were killed because of the conflict. Mosaddegh was arrested, tried and convicted of treason by the Shah's military court. On 21 December 1953, he was sentenced to three years in jail, then placed under house arrest for the remainder of his life. Other Mosaddegh supporters were imprisoned, and several received the death penalty. After the coup, the Shah continued his rule as monarch for the next 26 years until he was overthrown in the Iranian Revolution in 1979.
In August 2013 the U.S. government formally acknowledged the U.S. role in the coup by releasing a bulk of previously classified government documents that show it was in charge of both the planning and the execution of the coup, including the bribing of Iranian politicians, security and army high-ranking officials, as well as pro-coup propaganda. The CIA is quoted acknowledging the coup was carried out "under CIA direction" and "as an act of U.S. foreign policy, conceived and approved at the highest levels of government".
