Answers

Answer:

What is hidden in the woods is the road.

Explanation:

The road what was hidden in the woods.

The poem, The Way Through The Woods written by Rudyard Kipling, mentions a road which has been closed for seventy years.

The road experienced destruction due to the weather and the rain. So, the road itself looked like its state before the road was made. It became difficult for people to recognize that there was a road there because the bushes and the shrubs had covered it. It becomes hidden from human eyes. Trees were all grown up in the road and made up part of the woods. Birds like the ring-dove breeds there and the badger rolls there playfully.

50 POINTS ANSWER CORRECTLY PLEASE

Read this excerpt from "Just Another Sunday."

Jay flipped his hair so that it was out of his eyes. I could tell he was trying to act cool, but he must have been shaking on the inside.

"You don’t have to," I said.

"What do you know?" Pete said. "Mr. Soccer with his fancy jersey." My mom had just bought this new soccer jersey for me. At the start of the day, Jay had said how much he liked it, but now he was laughing right along with Pete. Then I watched as Jay walked over to the red car, kicking his feet out as he walked like Pete did, and tore off the antenna.

How does the narrator's role affect the characterization in this excerpt?

The narrator's knowledge of soccer allows him to describe Jay's skills.
The narrator's distance allows him to reveal everyone's thoughts.
The narrator's friendship with Jay allows him to consider Jay's feelings.
The narrator's history allows him to explain Jay's childhood.

Why are White students more likely to be
suspended for provable offenses versus
Black students who are more likely to be
suspended for subjective offenses such
as talking back and insubordination?

Answers

Answer:

fear = prejudice = unfair treatment

Explanation:

due to disproportionate rates of crime in black communities, many black kids are unfortunately labeled as being more likely to be untrustworthy and/or violent. This causes a general sense of unease in the prejudiced party, making them more likely to report and punish the black kid for a disproportionate offense.

This is a pattern that can be seen in any marginalized community, and frankly, the colour of one's skin is not the factor at play. This happens to LGBT people, immigrants of any colour, it can happen to any group which is stereotyped as being dangerous in some capacity.

This is where we get into the concept of intersectionality, such as how a black person can oppress a white lgbt person, and so on and so forth. It's all relative to the specific situation at hand.

Beloit College

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.

1. My school is incredibly unique.

There are so many different kinds of people that each bring something really special to contribute to the school which makes it so unique.

2. I am not just a number at my school.

I am a student that my professors know about and I like knowing that my professors can watch my progress.

3. I feel like I am contributing something to the community.

I like feeling like I can make a difference on my campus.

4. I really do feel like it is my home away from home.

It isn't just my school. It is absolutely my home away from home. I feel so comfortable there and it was as hard of an adjustment as I had thought it would be.

5. My professors know me and I feel that I can easily communicate with them.

I feel like they will do anything to help students succeed. I can always go to my professors. I like knowing that I have someone looking out for me.

6. The incredible people i've met

The people I have met at my school, even after my first year, have made such a huge impact on me. I know that these are people that I will stay friends with long after college is done.

7. Opportunities

My school offers so many different opportunities to get involved in things around campus. Even writing for the Odyssey was an opportunity offered to me by my school and I decided to challenge myself by writing an article. Turns out, I really enjoy writing. I might not have had this opportunity at a bigger school.

8. Students want to learn

I feel as though I am not just learning inside the classroom at my school. I am learning outside the classroom to from my fellow classmates who want to engage about the things we have learned.

9. Ability to join a sorority and have a house full of people I know I can talk to anytime I need to

I wasn't sure if being in a sorority was something I was interested in but when I met the amazing people in the sorority and how inclusive it was, I knew that it was going to be a good thing for me. The people I've met in my sorority have been so amazing.

10. I have figured out how I learn best because my school offers so many different ways of learning.

Because of the smaller class sizes, there is more flexibility in the way the class is taught. This was helpful because I was able to try out different ways of learning and figure out which way I learn best.

In three paragraphs, what new meanings are suggested by the decisions of Doane Hoag and Jules Dassin, who wrote and directed the 1941 film version of “The Tell-Tale Heart”?

Please include:
1. an introduction that identifies Dassin and Hoag’s meaning and/or themes
2. three distinct examples of the filmmakers’ decisions that helped create that meaning or those themes
3. a conclusion that both summarizes your points and explains why this new meaning matters

Answers

Answer:

Doane Hoag and Jules Dassin were very faithful to Poe's narrative and presented the work as Poe wrote, but with visual and auditory effects that may have changed the meaning of the work for other people. I don't particularly believe that they added new meanings, but they intensified those reported by Poe. That's because the soundtrack, the play of light and shadow, the expression of the actors show the madness, the insanity, the cruelty, the torture and the folly of the story. In the film, the meaning of these things gets much stronger, because we can see Poe's words come to life and leave the role becoming something real. This was masterfully done by Doane Hoag and Jules Dassin.
