The phrase "colonised minds" refers to the psychological and cultural effects of colonisation on colonised peoples.
"colonised minds"The concept of "colonised minds" is used in the context of postcolonial theory to describe how colonised peoples have assimilated the values and ideologies of the coloniser, resulting in a loss of cultural identity and dependence on the coloniser. This might involve the marginalisation of indigenous customs and knowledge as well as the appropriation of the language, culture, and religion of the coloniser.
The psychological and cultural effects of colonisation on colonised peoples are frequently discussed using the phrase "colonised brains." It implies that colonisation has a significant impact on a society's political and economic institutions in addition to the psychology of each individual, resulting in a loss of identity and a perception of cultural inferiority. The idea is frequently utilised to critique the lasting effects of colonialism

In the line "who knew your last supper would be a feast of the colonised minds," Caitlin Jenkins is suggesting that the people of South Auckland have been subjected to a form of mental colonization that has affected their ability to think and act freely. The term "colonised minds" refers to the ways in which the legacy of colonialism - particularly the colonization of New Zealand by British settlers - has impacted the cultural and social norms of the country, and has led to a kind of internalized oppression or subservience among some members of society.
Jenkins may be suggesting that the people of South Auckland, who are predominantly from Pacific Island and Māori backgrounds, have been particularly impacted by this legacy of colonization, and that their ability to fully express themselves and live their lives on their own terms has been limited by the mental and cultural constraints that have been imposed upon them. The phrase "feast of the colonised minds" suggests that even the act of eating or nourishing oneself has been impacted by this legacy of colonization, and that the people of South Auckland may struggle to fully embrace their own cultural practices and traditions in the face of these constraints.

Provide a topic sentence discussing how worker's abilities and monopoly power impact income
inequality.
Answer:
Abstract
Explanation:
Abstract
In social science research, household income is widely used as a stand-in for, or approximation to, the economic well-being of households. In a parallel way, income-inequality has been employed as a stand-in for inequality of economic well-being, or for brevity, "economic-inequality." But there is a force in market economies, ones with extensive amounts of monopoly, like the United States, which leads income-inequality to understate economic-inequality. This force has not been recognized before and derives from how monopolies behave. Monopolies, of course, raise prices. This reduces the purchasing power of households, or the value of their income. But monopolies, in fact, reduce the purchasing power of low-income households much more than high-income households. What has not been recognized is that, in many markets, as monopolies raise the prices for their goods, they simultaneously destroy substitutes for their products, low-cost substitutes that are purchased by low-income households. In these markets, then, while high-income households face higher prices, low-income households are shut out of markets, markets for goods and services that are extremely important for their economic well-being. It often leaves them with extremely poor alternatives, and sometimes none, for these products. Some of the markets we discuss include those for housing, financial services, and K-12 public education services. We also discuss markets for legal services, health care services, used durable equipment and repair services. Monopolies that infiltrate public institutions to enrich members, including those in foster care services, voting institutions and antitrust institutions, are also discussed

Dog Training Me?
by Bryan Ellett
My new dog is a mutt, or a mix of breeds, most likely a mix between a basset hound and a beagle. No one knows for sure, though. His name is Capote, and he is a really attractive dog, small but sturdy. He has great posture and always looks proud, sticking his chest out slightly and standing tall. There is only one problem, but it’s a big problem: he won’t fetch.
Actually, it’s worse than that. Not only will he not fetch, he’s making me play his game! I throw the ball, and Capote goes running after it, as if fetch is the thing in the world he most enjoys. He begins bringing the ball back to me, but then he runs right past me. I follow him, reaching for the ball and trying to pull it out of his mouth, but he keeps turning away from me, teasing me with the ball! He’s not playing fetch; he’s playing “come chase me!” And he’s training me to do it, too!
Once I realized this, I read some books, and I’ve changed my strategy. If he runs past me with the ball, I don’t follow him, and I don’t reach for the ball. Instead, I turn my back on him and ignore him. He really does like to play, so me ignoring him is a tremendous punishment! Eventually, he’ll bring the ball over to me, and once he does, I immediately throw it. That way, he knows that he’ll be rewarded with another throw if he brings me the ball. He is not a perfect fetch player yet, but I can now tell that one day he will be!
The reader can infer that
A.

B.
Capote is not very smart.
C.
dogs can be trained to fetch.
D.
young dogs cannot play games.

The mysterious anxiety of them and us plot
American novelist Mary Gaitskill originally released her short tale, "The Strange Anxiety of Them and Us," in 2006.
The story centers on a young woman named Sylvie who accepts Lauren's invitation to a dinner party. Sylvie feels out of place at the party because the other guests are wealthier and more educated than she is. She develops a focus on Tom in particular since she feels that he treats her with disrespect.
Sylvie grows more uneasy and suspicious as the evening goes on. She thinks that Tom is making fun of her behind her back and that the other guests are judging her. Also, she develops an obsession with a painting in the host's home that appears to depict her own emotions of loneliness.

what do you think is the most important consideration in ethical speaking? what is the second? the third? could the first, second, and third ever come into conflict?
The most important consideration in ethical speaking is honesty, followed by respect for the audience and adherence to social and cultural norms. These considerations can potentially come into conflict.
The most essential factor in ethical speaking is truthfulness and accuracy in the information given to the audience. The second factor to consider is audience regard, which includes handling them with decorum, avoiding harmful or offensive words, and being aware of their needs and interests.
The third factor to consider is adherence to social and cultural standards, which include recognising and appreciating variety as well as avoiding discrimination or bias. These considerations may conflict, particularly when the speaker is confronted with challenging ethical quandaries that necessitate weighing multiple ideas or viewpoints. Speakers must be conscious of these factors and handle them with caution and sensitivity.
