When religious groups are harmed due to their religion, it is called:

A)punishment

B)discrimination

C) prosecution

D)persecution

Answers

Answer:

your answer is D persecution

Explanation:

Religious persecution is the systematic mistreatment of an individual or a group of individuals as a response to their religious beliefs

Answer:

Persecution.

Explanation:

I don't really have an explanation for this answer. But I know it wouldn't be discrimination due to the fact being that would just be how the person thinks about you. Punishment wouldn't be it either. Prosecution is against somebody in respect of a criminal charge. Leaving persecution.

How did Mexico's winning independence from Spain affect Stephen Austin's plans for his colony

Answers

Answer:

It affected his plans because now he has to go back and get his approval renewed, which takes a year. Due to him being gone for so long, many problems start to occur.

Explanation:

Answer:

The settlement of Austin's colony from 1821 to 1836 has been called the most successful colonization movement in American history. Many of the historical events of Southeast Texas owe their origin to this colony. Fort Bend County was one of the most heavily populated areas of the colony.

Stephen F. Austin's father, Moses, laid the foundation for this colony in Texas during late 1820 and 1821, but died before being able to implement his plans. Stephen, although hesitant at first, decided to finish what his father had begun. Austin travelled to San Antonio de Bexar, where he was declared the rightful heir to his father's grant. Austin was issued an empressario contract to settle three hundred families in Spanish Texas. The Spanish demanded the settlers be, among other things, loyal to the offical government and religion of Spain. Both the government and Austin realized the necessity of having colonists of reputable character, and both made this a prerequisite for immigration. Soon after gaining this contract, the eleven-year war for Mexican Independence ended successfully, and the new Mexican government affirmed Austin's contract to settle Texas with families from the United States.

Explore and write about the evolution of the sewing machine from the 17th century to the mass production machine used today

Answers

Answer:

The history of the sewing machine wouldn’t exist without the artistry of hand sewing. People started sewing by hand some 20,000 years ago, where the first needles were made from bones or animal horns and the thread made from animal sinew. Our inventive instinct explains the natural progression to want to improve sewing techniques and make it less laborious. Cue the Industrial Revolution in the 18th Century Europe, where the need to decrease manual sewing in factories became paramount.   1755: The First Patent ; Charles Weisenthal, a German man, was issued a British patent for a “needle that is designed for a machine.” There’s no description in Weisenthal’s patent of any mechanical machine, but it shows there was a need for such an invention. 1790: The First Detailed Design ; The history of the sewing machine essentially starts here. A cabinet maker from England named Thomas Saint designed the first sewing machine of its kind. The patent described a machine powered with a hand crank to be used for leather and canvas. Nobody knows if Saint built a prototype, but in 1874, English engineer, William Newton Wilson found the patent drawings. They were so detailed, he built a replica, proving that it did work. Early 18th Century: Many Attempts, Many Fails ; It’s worth mentioning that all attempts of designing a sewing machine before the first successful one, all moved the needle side to side and were powered with a winding handle. 1810: Balthasar Krems invents an automatic machine for sewing caps. He didn’t patent his design but it didn’t work anyway.  1814: An Austrian tailor, Josef Madersperger, was issued a patent in 1814. He was persistent, attempting several different designs, but all were unsuccessful.  1818: John Adams Doge and John Knowles invent America’s first sewing machine, but it could only sew a few bits of fabric before breaking. 1830: The First Successful Sewing Machine ; 40 years since Thomas Saint first drew and described a machine for sewing, we finally have a functioning sewing machine. Barthelemy Thimonnier, a French tailor, invented a machine that used a hooked needle and one thread, creating a chain stitch. 1830: A Riot & Near Death Experience ; After the successful patent, Thimonnier opened the world’s first machine based clothing manufacturing company. His job was to create uniforms for the French Army. But when other French tailors got wind of his invention, they weren’t too pleased. They feared his machine would result in their unemployment so they burnt down his factory while he was still inside. Never take your sewing machine for granted ever again; this guy almost died for it. 1834: Morals Over Money ; This is an example of sticking true to your beliefs. Walter Hunt created America’s first functioning sewing machine, but he had second thoughts. Hunt thought such a machine would cause unemployment for many, so he didn’t bother to patent the design. Now you see where things are going to get messy. 1844: A Lost Patent ; The sewing machines we’ve seen so far are all made up of disjointed elements, with nothing really working together. In 1844, English inventor John Fisher designed a sewing machine that would eliminate this disparity between the moving parts. However, a botched filing job at the Patent Office resulted in his patent getting lost, so he never received any recognition. 1845: Elias Howe & the Lockstitch ; Elias Howe from America invents a sewing machine that resembles Fisher’s, with some tweaks and adjustments. His patent was to invent “a process that uses thread from 2 different sources.” His machine has a needle with an eye at the point, which goes through the fabric creating a loop on the reverse, a shuttle on a track that slips the second thread through the loop, creating what is called the lockstitch.  He struggled to market his design, so he took the plunge and sailed to England. After a lengthy stay, he returned to America only to find others had copied his lockstitch mechanism. One of those was an Isaac Merritt Singer.

Answer:

Your response should include these key milestones in the evolution of the sewing machine:

1755–The sewing needle was invented by Charles Weisenthal.

1790–The first sewing machine was invented and patented by Thomas Saint.

1829 –The first practical sewing machine was patented by Barthelemy Thimonnier, a French tailor.

1832–A new sewing machine was developed by Walter Hunt.

1841–Eighty of Barthelemy Thimonnier’s machines were used to sew uniforms for the French Army.

1846–The lock stitch sewing machine was invented by Elias Howe.

1859–The foot treadle sewing machine was patented by Isaac Singer.

1857–Less expensive chain stitch sewing machines were sold by the Willcox & Gibbs Sewing Machine Company.

1860–Singer founded a company to manufacture sewing machines

8. Describe a scenario that forced you to wrestle with your values. What was your
ultimate decision and how do you feel about it? Explain.

Answers

Answer:

One scenario that forced me to wrestle with my values was one that most people know but didn’t actually have to live through it. If you have ever had someone ask you, “Would you steal a loaf of bread for your family to eat if you were starving and poor?” you may have not put a lot of thought into your answer because it seems a bit outlandish. One summer my family was in a really rough place, my parents had been laid off and my siblings and I were too young to help out much. One day a fellow peer of mine in school had brought a bag of goodies and they had left them sitting in the back of the class. Later on, we had all gone outside to complete a science experiment. I had returned back to the classroom to grab my sweater and nobody else was inside. That day especially I was starving because I hadn’t eaten lunch or dinner the day before or anything that day. I remembered my siblings and how skinny and malnourished we looked. At that moment, even though it hurt me to do it, I grabbed the bag and shoved it in my bag. To this day, I still feel extremely bad for what I had done, but a part of me slept a little better that night knowing my family wouldn’t starve in our car that night.

Explanation:

I met with an incidence that put me in dilemma whether to choose my moral ethical values or to get an edge over my studies.

It was mid of October 2020, when I realized that I have spent major portion of my monthly expenditure on house rent, food, movie, and friendly get together treat. I was not able to ask my father to pay sent me more money as he has recently lost his job and has no more means to fulfill my demands till he gets a new job. I was just left with few pennies in my pocket to meet the needs of the rest of the month. My teacher gave me some difficult assignments on algebra but I was not getting good study material to complete it. This assignment was important as it was going to add marks in my final semester and if I could complete it successfully may get a good hold on class position. Good marks also help in achieving target jobs. One day I went with my friend to the market he was forcing me to have some snacks along with him but I knew if I ordered something I have to pay for it too so I denied to eat anything. When we were leaving the market I found a stack of currency notes on the floor and I immediately pick them and put them in my pocket. When we were walking ahead one old woman was crying as she was not able to pay the bill of the grocery store as she lost a huge stack of her money. This created a situation of dilemma in my mind whether I should return money to the old woman or keep it for buying study material for my assignment. I realized it will be unethical to keep money with me as the old woman was looking very helpless and full of anxiety.

So, I decided to gave her money back, I went with a smiling face and tried to calm her and confess that I found your money lying on the floor. She patted my back and blessed me.

I felt relieved after giving back the money if I had not returned the money then the sad and crying face of old woman remain in my memory for long. I may repent on my deeds and I decided to teach middle school students to meet my needs.

The integral with respect to time of a force applied to an object is a measure called impulse, and the impulse applied to an object during a time interval determines its change in momentum during the time interval. The safety of a t-shirt launcher, used to help get crowds cheering at baseball games, is being evaluated. As a first step in the evaluation, engineers consider the design momentum of the launched t-shirts. The springs in the launcher are designed to apply a variable force to a t-shirt over a time interval of t1 = 0.5 s. The force as a function of time is given by F(t) = a+ b, where a = 28 N/s2 and b = 7.0 N.
