What do you know and/or want to know about September 11, 2001?

Answers

Answer 1
One thing that I know was that the terrorists came from the Middle East. They did not like The U.S because they did not believe that we should have all of this freedom. So they high jacked 4 planes. The first plane crashed into the north tower, the second hit the south tower, the third hit the pentagon, and the fourth crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. The people in flight 93( the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania) fought back because there flight was heading for either the White House or the Capital building. That’s really all that I know. Hope this works :)

How do you think people reacted to the new Constitution in 1787? Why would or wouldn’t they like it?

Answers

Many people reacted in a good way to the new constitution, while some thought it gave too much power to the government. The Federalists supported the new constitution in 1787, while the Anti-Federalists primarily did not agree with it.

The Federalists were in support of a new constitution. They believed that the Articles of Confederation, which was the United States' first constitution, was too weak and the government needed more power. Under the Articles, the government could not tax citizens, properly create and enforce laws, regulate trade, and draft soldiers. The Federalists felt like this was weakening the country and they needed to amend it. While the Articles ended up getting scrapped altogether, the Federalists were in support of this and wanted to create a new constitution that gave more power to the federal government.

On the other hand, the Anti-Federalists favored the Articles of Confederation and did not want to amend it or create a new constitution. They associated the government having power with British tyranny and thought the power should be in the hands of the states and citizens. They opposed having a new constitution and were scared for their rights, this is why they demanded to have a Bill of Rights.

What was the purpose of the Sedition Act of 1798?

Answers

Answer: the government was trying to refine free speech

Explanation: In one of the first tests of freedom of speech, the House passed the Sedition Act, permitting the deportation, fine, or imprisonment of anyone deemed a threat or publishing “false, scandalous, or malicious writing” against the government of the United States.

The purpose of the Sedition Act of 1798 was to curb political opposition and suppress dissent during a time of international tension and domestic political divisions in the United States.

The Sedition Act was passed by the Federalist-controlled Congress and signed into law by President John Adams.

It was a response to the growing conflicts between the Federalists and the Democratic-Republicans, who were critical of the policies of the Adams administration, particularly its pro-British stance and its enactment of the Alien and Sedition Acts.

The Sedition Act was highly controversial and generated significant opposition. It played a significant role in the partisan tensions of the time and contributed to the decline of the Federalist Party's popularity.
