3)
4 NH3 + 5O2 => 4 NO + 6 H2O How many grams of NO can be produced if 4.25 g of Nh3 are mixed with 4.25 g of O2?

Thank you all in advance!!!!

Answers

Answer 1

The percent yield of K3PO3 is 75.54%. The percent yield of K3PO3 is 75.54% and 7.20 g of NO can be produced.

Find the percent yield of all three questions?

1. The balanced equation is 3 KOH + H3PO4 => K3PO3 + 3 H2O. The molar mass of KOH is 56.11 g/mol and the molar mass of K3PO3 is 212.27 g/mol. The stoichiometric ratio between KOH and K3PO3 is 3:1.

The theoretical yield of K3PO3 can be calculated as follows:

2.45 g KOH × (1 mol KOH / 56.11 g) × (1 mol K3PO3 / 3 mol KOH) × (212.27 g K3PO3 / 1 mol K3PO3) = 4.66 g K3PO3

The percent yield of K3PO3 can be calculated as follows:

(actual yield / theoretical yield) × 100% = (3.52 g / 4.66 g) × 100% = 75.54%

Therefore, the percent yield of K3PO3 is 75.54%.

2. The balanced equation is C2H6O + 3 O2 => 2 CO2 + 3 H2O. The molar mass of O2 is 32.00 g/mol and the molar mass of CO2 is 44.01 g/mol. The stoichiometric ratio between O2 and CO2 is 3:2.

The theoretical CO2 yield can be calculated as follows:

14.23 g O2 × (1 mol O2 / 32.00 g) × (2 mol CO2 / 3 mol O2) × (44.01 g CO2 / 1 mol CO2) = 13.31 g CO2

The percent yield of CO2 can be calculated as follows:

(actual yield / theoretical yield) × 100% = (8.25 g / 13.31 g) × 100% = 61.92%

Therefore, the percent yield of CO2 is 61.92%.

3. The balanced equation is 4 NH3 + 5 O2 => 4 NO + 6 H2O. The molar mass of NH3 is 17.03 g/mol and the molar mass of NO is 30.01 g/mol. The stoichiometric ratio between NH3 and NO is 4:4 or 1:1.

First, we need to determine the limiting reagent between NH3 and O2.

4.25 g NH3 × (1 mol NH3 / 17.03 g) = 0.250 mol NH3

4.25 g O2 × (1 mol O2 / 32.00 g) = 0.133 mol O2

The limiting reagent is O2 because it produces fewer moles of NO compared to NH3.

The theoretical yield of NO can be calculated as follows:

0.133 mol O2 × (4 mol NO / 5 mol O2) × (30.01 g NO / 1 mol NO) = 7.20 g NO

Therefore, 7.20 g of NO can be produced.

What is the pressure (in atmospheres) exerted by a 0.500 mol sample of N2 gas in a 10.0 L container at 298 K?

Answers

To solve this problem, we can use the Ideal Gas Law, which relates the pressure (P), volume (V), number of moles (n), and temperature (T) of a gas. The Ideal Gas Law is expressed as:

PV = nRT

where R is the gas constant.

R = 0.0821 L·atm/mol·K

We can rearrange this equation to solve for pressure:

P = nRT/V

where:

n = 0.500 mol (number of moles of N2 gas)

R = 0.0821 L·atm/mol·K (gas constant)

T = 298 K (temperature)

V = 10.0 L (volume)

Substituting the values:

P = (0.500 mol)(0.0821 L·atm/mol·K)(298 K)/(10.0 L)

P = 12.1 atm

Therefore, the pressure exerted by a 0.500 mol sample of N2 gas in a 10.0 L container at 298 K is 12.1 atm.

Quantitatively, how would you expect its ratio of potassium-40 and argon-40 to be different from that of other rocks in your yard? Explain why. The half-life for the decay of potassium-40 to argon-40 is 1. 25 billion years

Answers

The ratio of potassium-40 and argon-40 in the meteorite would be much higher than in other rocks in your yard.

It is because the meteorite is from the early history of the solar system, and thus has had much less time for the potassium-40 to decay into argon-40. This is due to the long half-life of potassium-40, which is 1.25 billion years. Therefore, the meteorite would still contain a large amount of potassium-40 relative to argon-40, whereas other rocks in your yard would have had much more time for the decay to occur, resulting in a lower ratio of potassium-40 to argon-40. Answer:

The percent composition by mass of a component in a mixture is given by:

percent composition = (mass of component / total mass of mixture) x 100%

In this case, the component is sucrose, and the total mass of the mixture is the sum of the mass of sucrose and the mass of water. We have:

mass of sucrose = 4.6 g mass of water = 72.9 g total mass of mixture = mass of sucrose + mass of water = 4.6 g + 72.9 g = 77.5 g

Substituting these values into the formula, we get:

percent composition of sucrose = (4.6 g / 77.5 g) x 100% = 5.94%

P4Br7 is…
A. Phosphorus bromide
B. Phosphorus (IV) bromide
C. Phosphorus heptabromide
D. Tetraphosphorus heptabromide

Answers

The molecular formula P4Br7 represents a compound made of phosphorus and bromine atoms. To name this compound, we need to determine the oxidation state of the phosphorus atom and the number of bromine atoms present.

Since there are four phosphorus atoms, the prefix "tetra" is used. The Roman numeral in the name represents the oxidation state of phosphorus, which can be determined by dividing the total number of valence electrons of the phosphorus atoms by the number of phosphorus atoms present.

For P4Br7, the total number of valence electrons of the phosphorus atoms is 4 x 5 = 20, where 5 is the number of valence electrons of phosphorus. The total number of valence electrons contributed by the bromine atoms is 7 x 2 = 14, where 2 is the number of valence electrons of bromine. Thus, the total number of valence electrons in P4Br7 is 20 + 14 = 34.

To divide the total number of valence electrons by the number of phosphorus atoms, we get:

Oxidation state of P = Total valence electrons / Number of P atoms
= 34 / 4
= 8.5

Since the oxidation state of phosphorus is not a whole number, it suggests that the compound does not follow the typical rules for covalent bonding. Therefore, the compound P4Br7 is not a covalent compound but rather an ionic compound.

Out of the given options, none of them accurately represent the name of P4Br7. However, the closest option is D. Tetraphosphorus heptabromide, which represents a hypothetical compound that does not actually exist. Therefore, the correct answer is None of the above.
Final answer:

The correct name for P4Br7 is Tetraphosphorus heptabromide, which results from using prefixes to indicate the numbers of each type of atom present.

Explanation:

The correct name for the compound P4Br7 is D. Tetraphosphorus heptabromide. In chemical naming, the prefix 'tetra-' is used for four of an atom, in this case, phosphorus. Similarly, 'hepta-' is the prefix for seven, referring to the seven bromide atoms present. Therefore the name becomes Tetraphosphorus heptabromide.

What is Raoult's law?

According to Raoult's law-

Relative lowering of vapour pressure of a non volatile solute is equal to the mole fraction of solute.

The relation between relative Lowering of vapour pressure and molar mass of solute is given as -

                                             [tex]\frac{p^{0}- p }{p^{0} }[/tex] = [tex]\frac{W_{2} }{M_{2} }[/tex] × [tex]\frac{M_{1} }{W_{1} }[/tex]

          where, [tex]p^{0}[/tex] = vapour pressure of pure solvent

                        p = vapour pressure of solution

                        [tex]W_{2}[/tex] = Mass of solvent

                       W₁ = mass of solute

                        M₂ = molar mass of solvent

                         M₁ = molar mass of solute.

                              Mole fraction of solute = [tex]\frac{n_{2} }{n_{1} + n_{2} }[/tex]

where, n₂ = number of moles of solvent

            n₁ = number of moles of solute

For dilute solution,  n₂ ∠∠n₁

Thus, n₂ can be neglected in the denominator and this gives,

                                                     [tex]\frac{p^{0}- p }{p^{0} }[/tex] = [tex]\frac{n_{2} }{n_{1} }[/tex]

We know that, number of moles = mass / molar mass.

Therefore replacing the values of  n₂ and n₁ with mass and molar mass gives-

                                                 [tex]\frac{p^{0}- p }{p^{0} }[/tex] = [tex]\frac{W_{2} }{M_{2} }[/tex] × [tex]\frac{M_{1} }{W_{1} }[/tex]

Therefore, this gives the relation between relative lowering of vapour pressure and molar mass of solute

What are the shortest waves in the electromagnetic spectrum?
But this is including microwave waves so would that be the shortest or?

Answers

Answer:Gamma rays

Explanation:Gamma Radiation has the shortest wavelength.Order is as follows (shortest to longest wavelength):Gamma, X-Rays, UV, Visible, Infrared, Microwaves, Radio Waves.Gamma has the shortest wavelength because it has a higher frequency, meaning more waves in a second than any other radiation, which results in the short wavelength.Frequency is inversely proportional to the wavelength, and because it has a short wavelength and high frequency it has the most energy out of the rest of the Electromagnetic Radiation Spectrum.Hope I helped :)

Courtney burns wood in an outdoor firepit. She measures the mass of the ashes that remain after the fire, and the mass is much lower than the wood that she burned. What would be the best explanation for what Courtney observes?
A. gases are released into the air
B. water inside the wood solidifies
C. heat caused the molecules to lose density
D. atoms in the wood are destroyed

Courtney burns wood in an outdoor firepit and she measures mass of the ashes that remain after the fire, and mass is much lower than the wood that she burned. The best explanation for what Courtney observes is that: A. gases are released into the air.

What is the best explanation for what Courtney observes?

When wood burns, it undergoes chemical reaction called combustion, where it reacts with oxygen from the air to produce carbon dioxide, water vapor and other gases. These gases are released into air as the wood burns and their mass is not accounted for in ashes left behind.

Water inside the wood may also be released as steam during combustion process but this would not explain the significant difference in mass between the wood and ashes.

A profit and loss statement can be prepared that reports the revenues generated for each customer less the cost of the products sold (from the absorption costing system) less all other costs incurred to service the customer. These other costs include overnight deliveries, the cost of excessive change orders, the extra time spent by engineers or sales people servicing the customer, the extra costs incurred by purchasing to process short-lead-time orders, and so forth. One study found that the least profitable 20 percent of customers can reduce profits by 80 percent, while the most profitable 20 percent of customers can generate 150 per- cent of a company's profit. Another consultant asserts that 30 percent of customers of many firms are not profitable--and two-thirds of those will never be profitable. Hence, it becomes important for firms to identify and take actions to either drop the unprofit- able customers or convert them into profitable ones (raise prices or cut extra services) and to further cement solid relations with the profitable customers so they don't leave. One management consultant advocates creating customer operating partnerships" to boost business. In these partnerships, suppliers and their profitable customers integrate their supply chains to gether. The supplier operates deep inside the customer's business. This creates a barrier to entry for potential rivals. However, at the heart of any customer profitability analysis and customer operating partnerships is the firm's absorption costing system that accurately tracks costs gener- ated by each customer.
